EYE
Eye & Sin
If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body be thrown into hell.”
Matthew 5:29
PART:- 1
God has given life, why he will say to remove but he is saying that remove the bad thoughts in ur eyes
Note: Eye is door of our flesh and life, Be careful what is entering into it? (Door for Sin)
Note: you can remove pen from ur pocket but you can't remove bad thought from ur mind which is seen by ur eyes
1.The Eye as the Lamp of the Body
Verse: “The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness.” (Matthew 6:22–23)
Explanation: Jesus teaches that what we focus on determines whether we walk in light or darkness. A “healthy eye” means looking toward God’s truth, purity, and righteousness. An “unhealthy eye” means filling ourselves with lust, greed, or envy. What enters through the eye influences the soul.
2. Guarding Against Lust and Sin
Verse: “I made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully at a young woman.” (Job 31:1)
Explanation: Job shows intentional discipline. He recognizes that the eye can lead the heart astray. By making a covenant, he sets boundaries—choosing purity over temptation. This reminds us to be careful about what images we allow into our lives.
3. Avoiding Worthless Things
Verse: “Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to your word.” (Psalm 119:37)
Explanation: The psalmist prays for help to avoid distractions that pull him away from God. “Worthless things” could be idols, vanity, or empty pursuits. Fixing our eyes on God’s Word brings life and renewal.
4. The Danger of Covetous Eyes
Verse: “For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.” (1 John 2:16)
Explanation: The “lust of the eyes” is a craving for what we see—possessions, beauty, status. John warns that these desires are worldly and can separate us from God. Guarding the eye protects the heart from covetousness.
5. Fixing Our Eyes on Jesus
Verse: “Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.” (Hebrews 12:2)
Explanation: The safest way to guard our eyes is to direct them toward Christ. When our gaze is fixed on Him, distractions lose their power, and our life is filled with hope and purpose.
Practical Application
- Be intentional: Choose what you watch, read, and consume.
- Set boundaries: Like Job, make a covenant with your eyes.
- Redirect focus: When tempted, turn your gaze toward Scripture or prayer.
- Seek purity: Ask God to cleanse your vision so your life reflects His light.
PART:- 2
World is full of colours and it is very colour full
Note:- Eye has the capacity to attractiveness and to attract you which is harmful in your life
1.Guard your gaze: Be intentional about what you allow your eyes to dwell on.
There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.
Revelation 21:8
But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.
