SEED OF FAITH
Mustard Seed of Faith
STEP 1:- Faith is finding who we are in Christ
1.Seed - ( word of god)
Seed as the Word of God
1. Luke 8:11
“Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.”
Explanation: Jesus directly identifies the seed as God’s Word. Just as a seed carries life within it, the Word of God contains divine power to bring transformation, growth, and fruitfulness in a believer’s life.
- Application: When you receive Scripture into your heart, it begins a process of spiritual growth—if nurtured, it produces faith, obedience, and character.
Matthew 13:23
“But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.”
Explanation: The condition of the soil (our heart) determines the fruitfulness of the seed (God’s Word).
Application: A receptive, obedient heart allows the Word to flourish, producing visible transformation—love, patience, hope, and good works.
1 Peter 1:23
“Having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever.”
Explanation: The Word of God is described as an incorruptible seed—it brings new birth and eternal life.
Application: Your spiritual rebirth is rooted in the eternal Word. Unlike earthly seeds that decay, God’s Word sustains your identity as His child forever.
The Word of God is a seed:
1.It carries life (Luke 8:11).
2.It produces fruit when nurtured (Matthew 13:23).
3.It never fails in its purpose (Isaiah 55:11).
4.It brings new birth (1 Peter 1:23).
5.It protects against sin (Psalm 119:11).
2.Sowing - (The Process of Tree small turns into big tree, in Christ only we can grow)
Fellowships (worldly or wordly)
Galatians 6:7–9
“Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.”
Explanation: This verse highlights the principle of cause and effect in spiritual life. If we sow selfishness or sin, we reap corruption; if we sow in the Spirit, we reap eternal life. It also encourages perseverance—don’t grow weary in doing good, because the harvest will come in due season.
2Corinthians 9:6
“Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.”
Explanation: Paul uses sowing to illustrate generosity. Giving to others is like planting seeds—small sowing brings small harvest, but abundant sowing brings abundant blessings. This verse motivates cheerful giving and trust in God’s provision.
Mark 4:26–29
“This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground… the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how.”
Explanation: Jesus compares God’s kingdom to sowing. Growth is mysterious and ultimately God’s work. Our role is to faithfully scatter seeds of truth, love, and faith, trusting God to bring the increase.
Matthew 13:3–9 (Parable of the Sower)
“A farmer went out to sow his seed…”
Explanation: Jesus explains that the seed is God’s Word, and the soil represents human hearts. Some hearts are hardened, others shallow, others distracted, but good soil receives the Word and produces abundant fruit. This teaches us to cultivate receptive hearts and nurture God’s Word.
Practical Applications of Sowing
- In Faith: Every prayer, act of obedience, or step of trust is a seed that God can grow into spiritual fruit.
- In Relationships: Acts of kindness, forgiveness, and love sow peace and unity.
- In Generosity: Giving resources or time to others plants seeds that bless both giver and receiver.
- In Daily Life: Choices we make—whether righteous or sinful—are seeds that shape our future harvest.
STEP 2:- Faith is a good teacher that can teach you how to handle and face problems and challenges
Note:- Faith has different levels and we all should cross
Note:- Seasons changes but your faith should remain same
1.Faith Builds Confidence in God’s Power
Verse: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)
Explanation: Faith teaches us that our strength doesn’t come from ourselves but from Christ. When problems feel overwhelming, this verse reminds us to rely on His power, not our own limitations.
2.Faith Teaches Patience in Trials
Verse: “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.” (James 1:2–3)
Explanation: Challenges aren’t meaningless—they refine us. Faith helps us see trials as opportunities for growth, shaping endurance and character.
3.Faith Provides Peace Amid Anxiety
Verse: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” (Philippians 4:6–7)
Explanation: Faith teaches us to replace worry with prayer. When we trust God with our burdens, His peace guards our hearts and minds.
4.Faith Reminds Us of God’s Presence
Verse: “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.” (Isaiah 43:2)
Explanation: Faith assures us that we are never alone. Even in deep struggles, God’s presence is constant, guiding and protecting us.
5.Faith Inspires Hope in Restoration
Verse: “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles.” (Isaiah 40:31)
Explanation: Faith teaches us to look beyond the present battle. Hope in God renews us, lifting us above discouragement and giving us fresh strength.
STEP 3:- Faith is god medicine that can heal you from all Physical and spiritual diseases
1.Faith as Spiritual Medicine
Hebrews 11:1 – “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
Faith is the foundation of hope. Just as medicine works unseen inside the body, faith works in the unseen spiritual realm to bring healing and transformation.
Proverbs 4:20–22 – “My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to one’s whole body.”
God’s Word, received in faith, is described as life and health. Faith in His promises acts like medicine that penetrates both spirit and body.
2.Faith and Physical Healing
James 5:15 – “And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up.”
Here, faith is directly linked to physical healing. Prayer mixed with faith is like a prescription from God that brings restoration.
Matthew 9:22 – “Jesus turned, and seeing her he said, ‘Take heart, daughter; your faith has healed you.’ And the woman was healed at that moment.”
The woman with the issue of blood was healed not by medicine, but by her faith in Christ. Faith became her cure.
3.Faith and Spiritual Healing
Psalm 147:3 – “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”
Faith in God’s love heals emotional and spiritual wounds. Just as medicine binds physical injuries, faith binds the soul’s hurts.
Ephesians 2:8 – “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.”
Faith is the channel through which salvation—the ultimate spiritual healing—is received.
Think of faith as a daily dose of God’s medicine
- Morning dose: Prayer and scripture (Psalm 5:3)
- Afternoon dose: Trust in trials (Romans 8:28)
- Evening dose: Gratitude and rest in God’s promises (Philippians 4:6–7)
