VOICE OF DISCIPLE
Disciple
Isaiah 40:3-5
A voice cries: “In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be lifted up, and every mountain and hill be made low; the uneven ground shall become level, and the rough places a plain. And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.
* Matthew 3:3: This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah: 'A voice of one calling in the wilderness, 'Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him'"
* Mark 1:2-3: Look, 1 am sending my messenger ahead of you, and he will prepare your way. Clear the road for him!'"'
* Luke 3:4-6: The voice of one crying in the wilderness: 'Prepare the way for the Lord; make his paths straight. Every valley shall be filled, every mountain and hill shall be made low
* John 1:23: John the Baptist himself says, "I am a voice of one crying out in the wilderness: Make straight the way of the Lord-just as Isaiah the prophet said".
our goal is to disciple people, help them grow in Christlikeness, discover and fulfill God's purposes for their lives.
We desire to see new believers maturing into being disciples of Jesus Christ, then growing into becoming ministers (servants) of Christ and taking on roles of responsibility (leaders) in their areas of gifting and calling.
Our FOUNDATIONS course is specially designed to help provide new believers with strong foundations and mature them into being disciples.
While we do not "script" people's spiritual journeys, we provide all possible resources and encourage relationships that help shape people in their spiritual growth. We encourage people to identify where they need to grow and take initiative to work on those areas, using what has been made available to them.
We encourage people to initiate and take responsibility to foster discipling (nurturing, mentoring) relationships one on one, in group settings (e.g. Life Groups), and across generations (age groups).
Discipleship at school happens based on relationships, and is more life centric rather than program centric.
we believe in discipling in the midst of life—not outside of life (technically, we'd call this 'on-the-job' training, as distinguished from classroom training). We believe discipleship happens anytime, anywhere. Hence we encourage people to serve in church, go on missions trips and along the way we coach them, build them up.
Growth is normal and is expected. Growth is seen by increase in stature, ability, maturity and responsibility. We discuss how we grow spiritually as we look at six key elements of growth. Spiritual growth causes increase in Christlikeness and fruitfulness.

Foreshadowing of Discipleship
- Jesus later teaches: “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.” — Matthew 16:24
- Thomas’ statement anticipates this call: discipleship means willingness to suffer and even die with Christ.
Matthew 28:18-20
All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me
- Meaning: Jesus declares His universal sovereignty. His resurrection confirms His victory over sin, death, and Satan.
- Supporting verses:
- Philippians 2:9–11 – God exalted Him and gave Him the name above every name.
- Colossians 1:16–17 – All things were created through Him and for Him.
- Application: Our mission flows from His authority. We don’t go in our own strength but under His kingship.
1.Empowerment: Believers must rely on the Spirit, not human strength.
2.Witness: Our lives, words, and actions testify to Christ.
3.Mission: Start where you are (Jerusalem = home/family), then expand outward.
4.Global Vision: Christianity is not confined to one culture; it is for all nations.

The Promise of the Father
- Refers to the Holy Spirit, foretold in:
- Joel 2:28–29 – “I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh…”
- John 14:16–17 – Jesus promises the Helper, the Spirit of truth.
- Acts 1:4–5 – Jesus repeats the command to wait for the Father’s promise.
This shows continuity: the Spirit was not a new idea but the fulfillment of God’s ancient covenant promises.
Note:- Holyspirit is the Promise for mission of Jesus Christ
Imp Note:- Matthew 5:19
1.Daily life: Practice small acts of obedience (truthfulness, kindness, purity) as they reflect God’s kingdom.

2.Moses: Equipped by God with leadership and wisdom to lead the Israelites out of slavery (Exodus 3:10-12).
3.Deborah: A prophet and judge, given wisdom and leadership abilities by God to lead the Israelites (Judges 4:4-9).
Evangelism and Preaching

2.Apostle Paul: Given the ability to preach and teach the Gospel, spreading Christianity throughout the Mediterranean world (Acts 9:15-16, 2 Corinthians 12:12).
Final explanation
Stephen’s Rebuke (Acts 7:51–53)
- Stephen directly confronts them:
- “You stiff-necked people… you always resist the Holy Spirit.” (v. 51
- They persecuted prophets and betrayed the Righteous One (Jesus) (v. 52).
- This is the climax: Israel’s history of rejecting God’s messengers culminates in rejecting Christ.
