A FRIEND BECOME ENEMY
Money - Hypocrisy - Hungry for worldly Richness
1.Outward Devotion vs. Inward Corruption
Role as Apostle: Judas was chosen by Jesus as one of the twelve, entrusted with responsibility as treasurer (John 12:6). This gave him an appearance of trustworthiness.
Hidden Motives: Scripture reveals he was stealing from the money bag, masking greed under the guise of service. His hypocrisy was not obvious to the other disciples, showing how deception can persist even in close fellowship.
2. False Concern for the Poor
Incident in Bethany (John 12:4–6): Judas objected to Mary’s costly perfume being poured on Jesus, claiming it could have been sold to help the poor.
Reality: He did not care for the poor; he wanted access to the money for himself. His words sounded pious but were rooted in selfishness
3.Betrayal with a Kiss
Ultimate Hypocrisy: Judas betrayed Jesus with a kiss (Luke 22:48)—a gesture of affection used as a signal for arrest.
Symbolism: The kiss epitomizes hypocrisy: outward love masking inward treachery. It shows how hypocrisy corrupts even symbols of intimacy and trust.
Jesus knew Judas would betray Him, but He loved Judas anyway. Jesus could have thrown Judas under the bus, but He didn’t. He could’ve kicked him out of the circle, but he didn’t. He offered Judas hope, mercy and grace, and gave him a chance to make the right the choice. As long as you have breath, you have hope. Jesus loves you no matter where your heart is. There is no condemnation or judgment. Jesus isn’t holding a grudge. Choose right now to surrender all to Him and allow His grace to change you.
1.God's love never depend upon other character , it depends upon his own character in the sameway God is expecting the same from us.
2.It is very hard to love like Jesus Christ but we have Holy Spirit inside us we can love
3.Holy Spirit will transform us into Image of God
(Image of God - Character of God - GOD IS LOVE)
The lesson we learn from Judas Iscariot is that his life was an example to us that we should not copy his deceptive ways and put this world’s lust of riches, etc., before the Lordship of Jesus Christ. The Bible warns us: “But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses” (1 Timothy 6:9-12).
Money , If we dont handle money correctly , Money will handle us very wrongly
Handling Money Wrongly
Controls emotions: Anxiety, greed, envy, or false security.
Distorts priorities: Chasing wealth at the expense of family, health, or faith.
Creates bondage: Debt, addiction to materialism, or dependence on unstable income.
Destroys relationships: Conflicts over inheritance, business, or lifestyle choices.
Handling Money Correctly
Stewardship mindset: See money as God’s resource entrusted to you, not your possession.
Discipline: Budgeting, saving, and avoiding unnecessary debt.
Generosity: Giving breaks money’s grip and reorients the heart toward eternal values.
Contentment: Philippians 4:11 — learning to be content in plenty or in want keeps money from ruling us.
If you don’t finish your assignment, somebody else will. If you give up or walk away from what God has told you to do, God can raise someone else up to take your place. Where Judas’ name should be carved on one of the 12 foundations of Heaven (Rev. 21:14), instead it says Matthias. God wants to use YOU, but He doesn’t have to. Let no man take your crown.
