LIVING WATERS

John4:7-15

7 A woman from Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give me a drink.” 8 (For his disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.) 9 The Samaritan woman said to him, “How is it that you, a Jew, ask for a drink from me, a woman of Samaria?” (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.) 10 Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that is saying to you, ‘Give me a drink,’ you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.” 11 The woman said to him, “Sir, you have nothing to draw water with, and the well is deep. Where do you get that living water? 12 Are you greater than our father Jacob? He gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did his sons and his livestock.” 13 Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” 15 The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water, so that I will not be thirsty or have to come here to draw water.”

Note:- Here the Context and Conversion is very important for understanding

Note:- Jesus is speaking in metaphor language but women is thinking in normal language

1.WATER OF SALVATION

Salvation is a free Gift from through Jesus Christ

Note:- Through her in village many people came into Salvation

1.No one can earn it; all fall short (Romans 3:23)

2.It’s a gift—received by faith, not effort

3.It rests on Christ’s finished work, not your performance.

2.WATER OF SPIRITUAL SATIFACTION

John4:14 but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again.

Note:- Context is all about spiritual thirsty not about natural thirsty

Note:- The package things from salvation

1.Peace which world can't give

2.God's wisdom

3.Joy which never experienced in life

Note:-

- Recognize Hunger → Admit areas of emptiness (fear, procrastination, relational struggles)

- Seek God’s Word → Meditate on scriptures that speak of renewal and hope

- Practice Surrender → Pray specifically: “Lord, I yield this weakness to You

- Live Out Faith → Apply biblical principles in routines (patience in family, diligence in work)

- Testify → Share experiences of restoration, like the Prodigal Son, to strengthen others.

3.WATER OF  SAVIOUR

Gift (ETERNAL LIFE)

The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life

Spring of water welling up to eternal life

Spring - Their won't be any Spritual dryness in life

Welling up - Eternal blessings

Inner Transformation

- From outside to inside: The woman sought water from a well; Jesus promised a well within her

- Spiritual rebirth: This points to regeneration—God planting eternal life inside the believer

- Overflowing life: The Spirit’s presence is not limited; it wells up, spilling into actions, words, and relationships.

Eternal Dimension

- Not temporary relief: Earthly pleasures fade, but Christ’s gift leads to eternal satisfaction

- Union with God: Eternal life is not just endless existence but deep fellowship with the Father through the Son

- Already and not yet: Believers taste this life now, but its fullness is realized in eternity.
