LOSING POWER

1.Thirsty for Money

Idolatry – Elevating wealth above God’s kingdom.

Broken Relationships – Greed fuels betrayal, exploitation, and family strife.

Loss of Faith – Pursuit of riches can cause wandering from truth.

False Security – Trusting wealth instead of God’s provision.

Endless Dissatisfaction – The thirst never quenches; it breeds anxiety and envy.

2.Lust (Men & Women)

Metaphorical Use: In passages like Proverbs and Ezekiel, “lustful women” often symbolize temptation, idolatry, or unfaithfulness rather than literal condemnation of women.

Cultural Context: Ancient texts sometimes used female imagery to represent seduction or danger, but the principle applies equally to men.

Holistic Warning: The Bible’s concern is not about women being inherently lustful, but about anyone—male or female—who allows desire to dominate their life.

3.Addictions of flesh (Alochol , Drugs)

Dulls discernment: Addiction clouds judgment, making it harder to hear God’s voice clearly.

Weakens authority: Spiritual authority flows from obedience and purity. Compromise undermines confidence in prayer and ministry.

Blocks intimacy: The Spirit desires surrender. Addiction creates divided loyalty, pulling the heart away from full devotion.

Damages witness: A believer’s testimony is weakened when bondage to substances contradicts the freedom Christ offers.

Genesis 1:27 ( Anointing is hidden in image of God)

So God created man in his own image,

    in the image of God he created him;

male and female he created them.

Proverbs 6:16-19
There are six things that the Lord hates,
seven that are an abomination to him

1.Haughty eyes

Eyes as a Symbol of Perspective

Matthew 6:22–23: “The eye is the lamp of the body…”

If the eyes are haughty, the whole body is filled with darkness. It shows how pride corrupts perception.

- Haughty eyes distort reality, making us see ourselves as greater and others as lesser.

- Contrast with Humble Eyes

- Psalm 131:1–2: “My eyes are not haughty, my heart is not proud…”

Humility is expressed in the eyes that look up to God and look kindly upon others.

- Jesus’ example: Philippians 2:6–8 shows His humility—though equal with God, He lowered Himself.

2.A lying tongue

Lying as Rebellion Against God’s Nature

God is truth (John 14:6; Titus 1:2). A lying tongue contradicts His essence.

Lies fracture the image of God in humanity, replacing light with darkness.

Spiritual Consequences

Lies enslave: once spoken, they demand cover-ups, leading to deeper bondage.

Lies destroy fellowship: they erode trust in families, churches, and societies.

Lies invite judgment: Revelation 21:8 warns that “all liars” will share in the second death.

- Practical Implications
1.A lying tongue wounds relationships, spreads discord, and corrupts justice.

2.Even “small” lies are spiritually dangerous because they normalize deceit.

3.Hands that shed innocent blood

Violation of Justice:
Innocent blood represents the breakdown of divine justice. God’s law protects life, and unjust killing is the ultimate rebellion against His order.

Spiritual Symbolism:
Hands symbolize human action. To have “hands that shed innocent blood” means one’s deeds are stained with violence and corruption.

Prophetic Warning:
The prophets often rebuked Israel for shedding innocent blood, linking it to national judgment (Jeremiah 7:6; Joel 3:19).

4.A heart that devises wicked plans

Self-Examination: Ask, “What am I planning in secret? Are my motives aligned with God’s kingdom or my own gain?”

Guarding the Heart: Proverbs 4:23 says, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”

Guarding means filtering thoughts, rejecting bitterness, and cultivating holy desires.
- Replacing Wicked Plans with Godly Plans:
- Instead of scheming for advantage, plan acts of kindness.
- Instead of plotting revenge, plan reconciliation.
- Instead of feeding lust or greed, plan disciplines that foster purity and generosity.

5.Feet that make haste to run to evil

Symbolism of Feet
In biblical imagery, feet represent direction and lifestyle. To “walk in God’s ways” means obedience; to “run to evil” means rebellion.

Hastening shows urgency and zeal—but misdirected zeal toward destruction.

2. Contrast with Righteous Living
Isaiah 52:7 praises “beautiful feet” that bring good news of peace.
Romans 10:15 echoes this, showing that feet can symbolize messengers of hope.
Thus, Proverbs 6:18 contrasts the beauty of gospel-bearing feet with the ugliness of sin-chasing feet.

Moral Implications
- Running to evil suggests:

- Premeditation: The heart already devised wickedness (Proverbs 6:18a).

- Eagerness: No hesitation, showing delight in sin.

- Bondage: Such haste reflects slavery to lusts and impulses .

6.A false witness who breathes out lies

Personal Integrity: Lies may seem small, but they erode character. Breathing out truth should be as natural as breathing air.

Community Impact: False testimony harms families, workplaces, and churches. Truth preserves harmony.

Spiritual Readiness: Living truthfully aligns us with Christ, who is “the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). Lies align us with the “father of lies” (John 8:44).

7.One who sows discord among brothers

Guard your tongue: Avoid gossip, slander, or half-truths.

Seek reconciliation: If conflict arises, pursue peace quickly (Matthew 5:23–24).

Promote unity: Encourage, build up, and bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2).

Discern motives: Be wary of those who manipulate or flatter for selfish gain (Romans 16:18).

8.Pride and arrogance

Separation from God: Pride resists dependence on Him (Psalm 10:4).

Downfall: Both pride and arrogance precede destruction (Proverbs 16:18).

Loss of Wisdom: Arrogance blinds one to correction and truth (Proverbs 11:2).

Judgment: God actively resists the proud (James 4:6).

9. Robbery (Isaiah 61:8)

Integrity in Worship: Don’t offer God “stolen” time or dishonest devotion. Worship must be sincere.

Justice in Relationships: Treat others fairly—don’t rob them of dignity, love, or truth.

Faithful Stewardship: Give God what belongs to Him—time, talents, resources.

Guard Against Hypocrisy: Robbery in spiritual life often hides behind ritual. True worship is spirit and truth (John 4:24).

How God Anoints Believers

Through the Holy Spirit at salvation

2 Corinthians 1:21–22: “He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also sealed us and gave us the Spirit in our hearts.”

This means every believer receives an anointing when the Spirit indwells them.

For empowerment and mission

Acts 10:38: “God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power.”

Likewise, believers are empowered to witness, serve, and overcome spiritual battles.

For teaching and discernment

1 John 2:27: “The anointing you received from Him abides in you… His anointing teaches you about all things.”

God’s anointing gives spiritual insight and guards against deception.

For consecration and holiness

Anointing sets believers apart as God’s possession, enabling them to live in surrender and readiness.
