Jesus Christ Cross and Blood

Passover lamb

Matthew 26:26-28
26 Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.” 27 And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you, 28 for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

Why Good Friday Is “Good”  ???

Not about celebration but salvation: Good Friday commemorates Jesus’ crucifixion, a day of grief, yet it is called “good” because of its outcome—atonement and reconciliation with God.

The paradox of sorrow and hope: It is the day when death and redemption meet—Jesus’ suffering poured out grace for all.

The substitutionary sacrifice: Christ’s death was not accidental but intentional, fulfilling prophecy and offering Himself as the substitute for our sins.

JESUS CHRIST ON CROSS

1.Cross saved you

We are saved from darkness and sin Bondage

On the cross their is exchange happened (He took our sin - we took his rightneous)

Slave to Saint

John1:1

His Blood is His Word

Blood as Covenant: In Scripture, blood seals covenants (Exodus 24:8). Jesus’ blood seals the new covenant, and His Word explains and applies it.

Word as Life: John 1:1 calls Jesus the Word. Thus, His blood (sacrifice) and His Word (identity) are not separate—they are two expressions of the same divine reality.

Blood Speaks: Hebrews emphasizes that blood is not silent—it testifies. Christ’s blood is His Word in action, declaring forgiveness and eternal life.

Forgiveness & Cleansing: His blood declares you forgiven; His Word assures you of it (1 John 1:7–9).

Protection & Peace: Pleading the blood of Jesus is essentially speaking His Word of covenant protection over your life.

Daily Application: To live by His blood is to live by His Word—reading, believing, and confessing Scripture is a way of “drinking” His blood spiritually.

Note:- A saved person will have fellowship with God thats is the true sign

Redemption

Salvation is the redemption from Sin

Note:- once a person gets truly repented they will be filled grace and truth

2.Cross shapes you as christ

(For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form)

Deny yourself and take up your cross daily

Reconciliation

The Hebrew word for atonement, kippur, means two things: to repay a debt and to purify

Atonement in the Bible refers to the process of covering or removing the guilt of sin to reconcile humanity with a holy God, traditionally through blood sacrifice and ultimately through Jesus Christ's death. Derived from "at-one-ment" it signifies restoring harmony, repairing a broken relationship, and redeeming humans from the consequences of sin.

Reconciliation

Vertical Reconciliation (God and Humanity)

Humanity’s sin created enmity with God (Isaiah 59:2).

Christ’s sacrifice bridges the gap, making peace (Colossians 1:20).

Reconciliation is God’s initiative—we don’t reconcile ourselves; He reconciles us.

It is relational restoration, not merely legal pardon. We are adopted as children, not just acquitted as defendants.

Horizontal Reconciliation (Human to Human)

Jesus links reconciliation with worship: Matthew 5:23–24 teaches that if you remember someone has something against you, reconcile before offering your gift.

Paul urges unity in the church: Ephesians 2:14–16 shows Christ breaking down the wall of hostility between Jew and Gentile.

True reconciliation involves humility, confession, forgiveness, and restoration of trust.

Biblical reconciliation

God’s work: restoring humanity to Himself through Christ.

Our calling: extending that reconciliation to others.

Cosmic hope: anticipating the renewal of all creation.

It is deeper than forgiveness—it is the transformation of hostility into harmony, enmity into friendship, and brokenness into wholeness.

3.Cross had made you Sons and Daughters of God

Before we are slaves but now we are Heavenly citizens

Restoration

The New Testament Fulfillment: Jesus Christ is viewed as the ultimate, final, and perfect sacrifice (Hebrews 9:11-14). His death serves as the propitiation, meaning it satisfies God's justice and turns away wrath.

1.Separation by Sin

2.Humanity was estranged from God because of sin (Romans 3:23).

3.Sin created a barrier that prevented intimacy with the Father.

4.The Cross as Reconciliation

5.Through Jesus’ death, the penalty of sin was paid (Colossians 2:14).

6.The Cross is not just forgiveness—it is adoption. It moves us from enemies to family.

7.Adoption into Sonship

8.Paul writes: “You received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry, ‘Abba, Father’” (Romans 8:15).

9.The Cross opened the way for believers to be legally and spiritually declared children of God.
